Quake Live is the free-to-play version of the popular classic Quake 3. Re-released like a browser based FPS with slight graphic and gameplay updates Quake Live is likely to interest any fan of old school FPS mayhem. Most free shooters nowadays tend being tactical shooters where players are equipped like present day SWAT squads or soldiers. The weapons are typically M16s and AK47s. There are currently five supported games modes and they also are Free For Those - A quite typical game mode for casual play. These usually use a time limit but almost always end when one player reaches the pre-set point requirement (usually 30.)
Team Death Match - Similar to FFA nevertheless the players are split into two teams with victory going for the team that collectively reaches the predetermined point value first.
Capture The Flag - Two teams battle it out and try and bring the opponent s flag to their base. Clan Arena - Two teams fight it but players don't respawn upon death before round is over. The last man standing wins the round for his team.
